Biography
Andrew Harris was born as eldest of three children. During his late childhood Andrew was the one who looked after his younger brother and sister as his parents were occupied with the family business. It is no wonder that he developed a good relationships with his siblings. This changed when Andrew started to work in the transport company himself. As he was longer and longer away from home on missions, his connection with the family diminished.
It was during his time as pilot for the family transport company that he encountered the huge capital ships. As Andrew flew occasional missions for a naval officer, he got invited on-board a MC-60. Being on-board this vessel made Andrew think about his future once more. He was reluctant to continue the family business, but he liked to spend time in space. After discussing this repeatedly with the officer, Andrew joined the Academy. Things had gone fast for Andrew, since he graduated from the Academy.
Year 10
During the first year of his active career Andrew took several jobs within the New Republic. His main focus after graduation was his naval career. He quickly rose towards the rank of Lieutenant during his first few months in service.
While he worked for the Navy, Andrew grew an interest for the judicial branch of the NR. While his first application for judge wasn't accepted due to his limited experience within the NR, he applied again shortly after, this time for a position as prosecutor. While serving within the JD, were he handled the start of cases regarding Tyr Tulon and Jeff Knight he was offered the opportunity to lead the prosecution department as Chief Republic Counsellor, replacing Raikov Drenn who in his place replaced Gryffyn Grayurra as Associate Minister of Justice.
Year 11
In the meanwhile another job ad attracted Andrews attention. The NR was looking for governors and Andrew took a shot at it, with success, as he was accepted as Governor of Borosk, an undeveloped system near Republica. It will be a great challenge to develop this system.
A further career change came when Andrew was accepted within the Republic Diplomacy Command where he encountered his former boss, Gryffyn Grayurra. Andrew choose to represent the NR on the Consular path, enabling him to get in contact with mostly neutral non-government factions.
One last important change in job occupation when Andrew was elected as Senator for the 10th session for a period of 4 months, finishing 5th in a 6 seat election. This election caused him to resign from the Justice Department, although he stayed in contact with his former colleagues.
His career went on and he was promoted to Naval Commander and RDC Vice Pro Consul. Andrew also sought Senate re-election, which was given to him by the voters by a 4th place in again a 6 seat election. Additionally Andrew serves as Speaker of the Senate during session 11.
Year 12
During year 12, Andrew continued working on his career. Early in the year he was reconfirmed as Governor of Borosk, a position he still occupies.
This year also marked him reaching his highest ranks, Naval Captain and Executive Ambassador within the first months of the year.
For the third consecutive time, Andrew took part of the Senate Elections, getting re-elected for the second time. Later that session, Andrew was appointed again as Speaker for the 12th session. Session 13 will be the first time Andrew doesn't need to be re-elected bringing his total to 4 Senate sessions.
During the year, Andrew got promoted to Commodore within the New Republic Navy, took a position as Chair of FTX in the Academy and resigned from the Senate.
Year 13
In year 13 little changed untill Andrew got the idea to run in another election, the Chief of State election this time. During campaigning it became clear that his opponents would be Azriel Pitot and Cheda Quche, his current superior within RDC. Andrew managed to draw 34% of the electoral votes in the first round that was won by Cheda Quche who received the support of 48% of the voting populace. A second round was held that resulted in a 46%-54% defeat of Andrew against his superior.
After the death of Cheda Quche, Andrew entered the mandatory by-election. Avoiding another run-off election, Andrew conceded defeat to Azzi Blackgate, who received 50% of the votes in the first round. This election has marked the beginning of the end. After two straight defeats a loss of focus was noticed. Torn between the desire for retirement from public life and the needs of the New Republic, the final decision was postponed a few times in times of need.
