10th Anniversary Celebrations To Kick Off With Super Sale

RNN Headquarters, REPUBLICA -- This year marks the 10th anniversary of the founding of the New Republic. To commemorate, the government will be holding a huge sale, the first in a series of events planned as part of the celebrations.
The sale will run for three weeks from Year 18 Day 25 to Year 18 Day 40. The timing coincides with the wave of holidays commonly observed around the galaxy.
According to the government announcement published on the 'Commerce' section of the galactic holonet, sentients not affiliated with the Galactic Alliance and who are not on the New Republic's Criminal Organizations or Trade Ban lists will be able to enjoy great bargains averaging 30% off regular prices across a range of ships, items, and datacards. New Republic and Galactic Alliance citizens, with their usual membership discounts, can take advantage of the significantly reduced external prices during this period.
The highlight, perhaps, is the complete and permanent dropping of the current 5-million-credit price tag for the bulk freighter datacard. This follows the public release of the original bulk freighter blueprints by Incom Corporation. From today onwards, datacards can be obtained for free, giving new meaning to the name ‘BFF’ - ‘Bulks for Free, Forever’.
"After being approached by neutral corporations regarding the price of the Bulk Freighter datacard we decided to completely drop it,” the new Minister of Trade and Industry Eleonore Silvermoon shared. “The Bulk is the most effective hauler around by far, making it indispensable for any production or construction endeavor. With the release of the blueprints we hope to support an increase in overall trade to promote economic growth throughout the galaxy."
Minister of State Tengri Lethas commented: “We would like to invite the galaxy to celebrate with us. The Republic is thriving, both politically and economically. Due to our NATs' increasing returns we are able to improve our citizens’ quality of life constantly, and with this event we want to let others reap the benefits of our achievements as well."
The New Republic came into being through the ratification of the Constitution on Year 8 Day 98 by the Rebel Alliance and SoroSuub Corporation. The merger of the two groups brought together the Alliance's military might and SoroSuub's economic capabilities. Since then, Day 98 is commemorated as Restoration Day throughout the nation’s territories, the keynote event being the grand parade that is traditionally held in the capital city, Republica.
Other events taking place later this year include several competitions organized by the morale department, ‘ARGH!!!’, and a grand party to celebrate the New Republic-managed Galactic Museum’s 5th birthday. The highly-popular Goodwill Ball, hosted by Republic Diplomacy Command, will also be making a return around Day 154. It was attended by guests representing nine different governments and organizations last year. The activities are designed to offer citizens, allies, and friends the opportunity to experience the fellowship of an intergalactic alliance and enhance the spirit of solidarity across its culturally-diverse community.
