The NRS Ion Storm is part of the fleet available to the NR Academy. Before being assigned to new cadets, however, she has seen much action in campaigns such as Kashyyyk and Thyferra, were she was employed extensively to drop units and pick up prisoners of war. She was also piloted by the - at that time - Lieutenant JG Mott Skyblade before he betrayed the NR during the Black Sun coup. The NRS Ion Storm was also used to rescue and give protective custody to some Rebel Alliance officers by Alph Virphen.
