As you all know, the New Republic has seen some rough times recently, having suffered the loss of Republic Mining Corporation and the treachery of Adam and Ingo. These twin betrayals have resulted in the loss of much of our mining capacity in the northern regions of the galaxy as well as a good amount of our military hardware. A large portion of our X-Wings, A-Wings, and B-Wings were lost along with military vehicles and some of our Mon Calamari cruisers.

Every cloud has a silver lining, however, and these events have served to forge a stronger identity for the New Republic. Not only have they brought us closer together with an even stronger resolve to succeed but they have also revealed to us who our true allies are. The Falleen Federation has offered direct help in our recovery despite their losses due to Adam's greed and they are not the only ally to have offered us aid.

Sadly the betrayal has also inflicted losses that will be impossible to replace. Alex Tritan, Bengro Evabri, Bleyse Windwhisper, Corran Sunstriker, David Kellar, Droop, Gabrich Varmer, Jacky Quah, Jayce Prassus, Julian Stan X'Las, Jobal Avalom, Kraw Night, Kyiang Sunrider, Nim Orlan, Stack Daal, Tuhhetti Secura, Vash Lightfoot, and Wes Palpie lost their lives. They died performing their duty, defending New Republic ships from traitorous boarding parties. Their loss will be felt for a long time to come but will also serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for current and future generations of New Republic citizens. A service honoring their commitment and sacrifice will be held soon.

The New Republic must and will go on, however, and these betrayals must not be allowed to undermine our democratic principles. The current elections are a symbol that the New Republic is undeterred and will continue to thrive. After the coup by Adam and Ingo, control of the Republic once again rests with its citizens so please make yourself heard in the elections and show your faith in the New Republic. There is still just over a day left to vote for the new CoS and the Senate elections start in five days. If you haven't already done so, I encourage you to look through the campaigns and the Q&A's and cast your vote.

The next order of business is rebuilding what we have lost. The Advisory Council and teams of citizens have been hard at work since regaining control to implement plans drawn up during the state of emergency. A large prospecting effort is underway to replace the mineral sources lost along with RMC and production has been started to replace our lost fighters. Plans are in place or in the works to not just replace but surpass everything that has been lost with factories and shipyards working overtime. All areas of the New Republic are pulling together in this effort with facilities and manpower being drafted in from the Military and the nationalised factions.

We have had some dark times and the recovery will take some time but with this new-found spirit of brotherhood and optimism the future looks bright.
