State of the Republic - March 2010

While going about your activities, you notice the time, and realize the the State of the Republic Address is about to begin. As you near a monitor, an individual walks forward...and you quickly identify the human as High Admiral LaSalle. The High Admiral takes a step forward as the camera focuses on him, and he displays a wary smile...
His voice begins unsteadily..."Greetings, offic, peop...senti¦" stammering, uncertainly. The Admiral takes a breath, relaxes, and gives a confident smile before continuing slowly and calmly...
"Greetings, members of the Republic...
The last two months has seen another round of great changes for the Republic. This will be the first Address under a new Chief of State, and there have been new senators elected after a drawn out election, as well as senators to replace people stepping down. I would like to welcome, and congratulate them all. On another note, I wish to express the Chief of State's apologies for not being available for this address, but he and ambassador Grayurra have been locked away in negotiations, which are currently at an important stage.
Recently, the news agencies have been abuzz with word of attacks on various Republic planets and installations throughout the galaxy. Most notably, attacks by the Empire in the N'Zoth system, the planets M'Buh and T'Grel. Republic forces moved with both great speed and focus, and were able to delay control loss, as well as secure one of the planets completely. Fighting on M'Buh was tough, and in the end, the planet has ended in stalemate with Imperial forces holding more slabs, but the Republic maintaining control, with outstanding effort by Nar Thalion, who is to awarded the Republic Readiness Award. Similarly, incursions were made into the Tatooine System in the Orus sector, but with allied support, the system was closely watched, and Imperial forces soon left.
In recognition of their work, and the brilliant efforts of their command team lead by Colonel Wedge Achilles, I would like to announce the Meritous Unit Citation to Orion Battle Group for its outstanding response, and excellent teamwork. For his efforts, Wedge is being awarded the Military Commendation for his efforts, as well as a new popular phrase...when you are interdicted by a single man in an AW, from successfully assaulting a planet, you have formally been 'Wedgied'. Additional recognition goes to Director Traner and CRI who assisted with the planning of the response effort.
Furthermore, Orion participated in a defensive effort against an attack from Shoki Shoen. Orion, with the help of the Falleen Federation and Ubbrikian's own Craulani Ortesma, repelled the attack and secured the planet, eventually retaking it. I would like to extend our thanks to the Federation, as well as Craulani, and recognize her for the Leadership Award for this action, as well as her efforts for Ubbrikian Industries.
Production continues on expanding our military capabilities, with Incom continuing to provide the NR with the fleet power, in Mon Cal cruisers and fighters, while Ubbrikian has been turning out SN-7 battle tanks, T-47s, and V-Wing speeders.
All factions have been working hard to meet the new population rules changes, which will require teamwork between all members of the NR, civilian and military.
The Ministry of Culture would also like to recognize Chicotae Silverfeather for his work in prospecting the Kerest system. For his efforts and continued hardwork, he has been promoted to Chief Administrator of Southern Operations.
With the recent unveiling of hidden systems, it is plain to see the development of a new tax planet for the Republic, in Erinalo system on the planet Celenor. Work has progressing steadily, moving quickly into the construction phase from the initial slabbing.
Finally, CRI would like to report the capture of Salvor Higgs, who was responsible for looting of the RA faction. The efforts were coordinate by DCRI Traner, with the support of the Jedi Order. The Jedi Order often helps in such matters, and we would like to extend our thanks for their help in collecting this criminal.

Kesh Muntoo (He kept Republic Medical organized through all the leadership changes of late. Now he took over and he's keeping it up)
Craulani Ortesma, did a spectacular job in both Geedon IV and Boolfin (slabbed most of those two planets) but also kept Ubrikkian as one of our most active nats for a long time now
