Greetings my fellow Republicans,

I stand before you today at the halfway point in my term as Chief of State. I have watched the New Republic grow to new unprecedented heights, as well as many personal lows: From the success of the long-awaited merging of our Nationalized Factions, to the tragic death of my beloved wife Sephe. All through this time, I have learnt several lessons which I would like to share with you tonight. I have learned the value of compromise like never before. As a government, we must always strive to find the best possible solution for the growth and success of the New Republic. That is impossible to do without compromising. We have many divisive issues within our Republic, but I hope and expect that each of you will try to approach them with an attitude of respect and compromise.

I have learned to be wary of those who encourage paranoia, wary of those who try and prey on our fears, and those would seek to use others for personal gain. These people are not always easy to spot, but their effects can be seen and countered with vigilance. Vigilance is a word I have used quite a bit lately, but it is one that I think is fitting of the New Republic. We are the stewards of Galactic freedom, justice, and peace. On a governmental we need to be vigilant against all threats that seek to harm you, the citizens of the Republic, or the freedom of others that we have the power to protect. On a personal level, we need to remain strong against these threats which seek to tear apart our Republic.

Over the past few months I have had the joy (is joy the right word?) of working side by side with the Ministry of Culture on the Belecalaryn tax planet. The population is nearing two billion inhabitants, and we expect explosive growth in numbers as this month goes on. The architect of this plan for economic expansion is our very own Minister of Culture Gojin Zen. Gojin has done an excellent job in his position and wishes to announce that Governor applications will be reopened in July. If you have thought of being a Governor, you have one more month to consider your options before Gojin will open this round.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry has had one of the most exciting months in its entire history. Thanks to a technological breakthrough in the way Datacards operate, we have managed to consolidate several of our companies. Triton Dynamics and Industrial Automation have merged to form the new Industrial Automaton, instantly becoming the largest droid producing company in the galaxy. Likewise, our items groups of Astralwerks Engineering and Toskan Industries have combined, but kept the name of Astralwerks Engineering. Not to be outdone and feeling even more ambitious, all three of our weapons companies (Soro-Suub Munitions, Merr-Sonn, and Neurosaav Technologies) merged to form Merr-Sonn Technologies. After seeing how successful the three-way merger of the weapons companies went, our ship groups decided that they were not to be outdone, and combined to form the new Incom Corporation. This is composed of the old Incom Corportation, Soro-Suub Corporation, and the Rebel Alliance. I am pleased to announce that the New Republic now has the largest and most productive ship building company in the entire galaxy! Additionally, Minister Kaos is looking into restructuring his ministry to maximize efficiency, so be on the lookout for an announcement regarding that.

Our Diplomatic corps have been hard at work reaching out to new allies and maintaining our old ones. The Galactic Alliance has grown in the past few months and future expansion is being pursued by our humble diplomats. With the help of Jace Tracken, RDC was able to negotiate the full securing of the Shili system, which passed from the Galactic Empire to a trader, who approached us. High Ambassador Azzi Blackgate has been busy helping Owyn with JMC, and was able to negotiate the merger of Offworld Mining Company into JMC. This will increase our mining capacity greatly, as well as bring in a strong and experienced managerial staff to further help JMC thrive. Cheda Quche has become the newest member of RDC, and we are excited to see how he can contribute to our diplomatic team. Many of you know Vol Kamo as the goofy little guy who runs ARGH and provides us all with so much fun. However, he has a serious side too, and one I wish to recognize right now. Since Azzi has become High Ambassador he has constantly told me of the progress that Vol is making within the diplomatic corps, and how much he is improving. Therefore, on Azzi's recommendation I hereby confer upon Vol the High Ambassadors citation, which I know you will wear proudly and well. Thank you for your contribution Vol, keep up the good work!

As Hopefully all of you read in my recent announcement, former minister of State Kapryn LaSalle has become our newest Chief Military Officer. I will not rehash that message, as you can simply read it here. I urge you to send Kapryn your messages, as well as your ideas for improvement of the military. This opens an exciting new chapter for the NR Military, and I encourage you all to feed off of Kapryn's own endless enthusiasm. As I said look for an announcement about the Minister of State shortly, probably within the next few days.

The New Republic Academy is considered by many to be one of the highest calibre learning establishments in the galaxy, something which we as a faction should be proud to have. The Academy has just completed what has taken them roughly a year to complete - a complete overhaul of courses and a switchover to these forums. Drastic improvement and reform has taken place which I do believe can only lead to an even better education for all of our future cadets and any fine future officers. Both the Military and Civil departments have seen change in a complete re-write of the majority of Academy courses and the creation of new ones. I am confident that our Academy is now the best in the galaxy, run by the best we've got to offer.

I would like to recognise this hard work, and so have several awards to hand out. The first is to our esteemed Headmistress Angela Liu, who has overseen the work and improvements that have occurred. Her dedication to the cadets of the NR is second to none and I would like to award this with the Ingenuity Award for this marvelous new Education system. Secondly, I would like to recognise a number of the Academy Staff for their continued efforts. Cheda Quche and Vonar Passik have put many hours of hard work into a complete overhaul and improvement of the FTX course as well as helping out in many other areas of the process. For this I award each of them with the Republic Service Medal. Next, Joe Falco and Hodniwa Stone have helped to improve the Basic and Civil courses at the Academy and so for their dedication I am awarding them both with the Instructor Dedication Medal. Congratulations to all four of you! And finally, last but not least, Wedge Achilles has shown time and time again his excellence as Dean of Military, taking on a big role in the overhaul of the Military courses as well as helping to oversee operations to get the new system ready on schedule.

For this, I am please to award him with Dean Dedication award!
Dean Dedication Award

Congratulations must go to all of the Academy Staff, they've done a superb job during this process and the result is absolutely magnificent, an excellent job by all involved. I look forward to seeing the results as the first cadets come through the system! I have also just received words from Angela that a public announcement is coming from the academy shortly as well, so be on a look-out for that.

Didlo Batri is taking over the position of Director of recruiting from Gothar, so be sure to buy him a drink, and send him your list of recruitment needs!

Angela Liu was announced as the second public member of CRI, and to the credit of the Republic's citizens, she was instantly bombarded with intel. We will continue to be on watch against plots to destroy the Republic, and with our team of intel operatives growing in experience and number, we continue to take positive steps. On a related note, the new NR judiciary trials are going well, and we have seen trials finally begin to progress. While there have been a few kinks in the process, overall it has been a rousing success. Thank you to all the judges, witnesses, and lawyers who have made this run as smoothly as it has.

I will leave you with a few last thoughts. Be brave in the face of tyranny. Stand strong against the forces of evil which seek to crush this group of free citizens. My fellow citizens, I thank you or your time, and Long live the Republic!
