I offer you my greetings, fellow citizens. Today, I stand here humbled and honored to have served you as Chief of State for the last year. This will be my last State of the Republic Address and I will start it with the announcement that voting is now open. Since there are only two candidates, we will not have to be concerned with a runoff election so on Year 10 Day 12, we will have a new Chief of State. I have been following the campaigns and I am quite impressed with both of the candidates. There is a fundamental difference in each one of their platforms that has made it very easy for me to choose who I will vote for. We are blessed to be able to make that choice and I ask each one of you that are eligible to vote to please exercise your right and let your voice be heard. Campaigning will continue through this voting week.

Now that the operation is complete, I can reveal that our most recent tax planet was built by one of our Battlegroups. It was completed in the record time of four months and has netted the NR the largest tax planet income of all our tax planets. This made December a record breaking month for income and we now have more credits in our coffer than we have ever had at one time. This proves to me that the military and civilian sectors can work together to achieve great things and I applaud all those that were involved.

Republic Diplomacy Command has instigated discussions within the Galactic Alliance in regards to joint judicial approach. They have also been in contact with Red Star Alliance regarding the Outer Rim Defense Alliance and its possibilities. There are other treaties and another new PSA in the works. I have also received word that there are about to be three new diplomats. I will leave that announcement to our High Ambassador.

As I'm sure everyone has seen, our High General, Edyn Solers has resigned his post. He has given the NR (and the RA before that) years of dedicated service. For that service, I have been requested and have agreed to present to him the Superior Service Medal.

As per the Constitution, his Executive Officer was the first to be considered and due to absolutely no objections, General Wolfgang Nospe has been named the new High General. He will not officially take office until the completion of the next round of Senate elections which will commence immediately after the election of the new Chief of State. For General Nospe's dedicated and superior service to the Senate, I am pleased to present to him the Hydian Star of Excellence.

Earlier this morning, I appointed Kaede Kazegami as the new Chief Executive Officer of Republic Medical. I am confident that he will do well in that position and I want to thank Sephe Nighthawk Traner for the excellent job that she has done during her time in Rep Med.

Once again, I am proud to have served the New Republic as Chief of State for the past year. The state of the NR is strong and I am confident that we will only get stronger.

Long Live the New Republic!
