Fleet Command consists of the Naval and Starfighter Commands.

The proud Naval officers are the ones who captain the Rebellion's capital ships, from the relatively small Sabaoth Destroyers to the massive Home Ones. Each capital ship is a mobile base, housing several fighter squadrons within their cavernous docking bays, allowing them to refuel and repair in the midst of battle, and more often then not providing the point of origin for Army's descent to the ground. While the Navy wages its battles in space, there is a group of Starfighter pilots who dart around the large capital ships, defending and attacking all at once. They thread through impossible gaps, lead their snubfighters head-on into a volley of lasers, and duel other enemy aces to the death. Winning battle after battle against impossible odds, the ubiquitous X-Wings, lightning-fast A-Wings, and hard-hitting B-Wings of SFC have carved their place into Galactic history.
The job of a Fleet Officer is not for the faint of heart; do you posses the inner strength needed for the Fleet as a Naval Officer or Starfighter Pilot?

Naval Assignments

Sabaoth Destroyer

Classification: Destroyer Description: As part of an exchange program, the Rebel Alliance acquired several Sabaoth Destroyers that are now in service. Though small compared to most other capital ships, the Destroyer's array of heavy weaponry has earned it a powerful reputation. Normally captained by junior naval officers, the Sabaoth is frequently used to transport troops to the ground when the landing zone may be too hot for a smaller, fragile craft.

MC-80b

Classification: Heavy Cruiser Description: The MC-80b is a heavily modified MC-80a that trades its docking space away for better weaponry and speed. Both modifications make it a dangerous foe on the battlefield, and thus these ships are always a valuable asset in the hands of the New Republic. Their weaponry and armor allow them to take on and defeat the renowned Imperial Star Destroyers. These ships usually serve as the backbone of the New Republic Navy, and are mostly seen piloted by senior naval officers.

MC80 Home One Class Star Cruiser

Classification: Command Ship Description: The MC80 Home One Class Star Cruiser is the pinnacle of Mon Calamari engineering. Equipped with an impressive amount of turbolasers, heavy lasers, proton-torpedo launchers, and ion cannons, the Home One is capable of destroying most any capital ship, while being able to fight fighters and freighters as well, a clear advantage over all other Mon Cal ships as well as the Imperial and Victory Star Destroyers. The Home One also offers a huge docking and hangar bays, allowing it to field huge amounts of fighter squadrons and a sizable ground force. These ships are most often captained by members of command.

Marine Corps

More often than not, Naval officers found that they needed troops to defend their capital ships, as well as capture enemy ships or enemy combatants on board capital ships. Naval crews were more than capable at defending themselves in case of boarding, but this could take away from their on-ship duties, which lessened the combat-effectiveness of the ship. Though the Army gladly loaned troops to serve on board capital ships, Naval Command realized that they were taking soldiers away from the front lines on the ground. Having recognized the need for a dedicated force with which to defend against enemy boarding actions, the Marine Corps was born. Naval Marines undergo some of the most grueling training there is to offer, and are exceptionally skilled at the close quarters combat one would encounter on board a ship.

Republic Fighters

BTL-S3 Y-wing Starfighter

Though designed at the beginning of the Clone Wars and more than twice the age of the average pilot, the Y-Wing has remained in service due to both the sheer number of ships manufactured and its versatility as a medium bomber, although it is currently being phased out of military use in favor of the New Republic's more modern fighters. The one distinguishing factor that continues to make the Y-Wing a force to be reckoned with is the turret-mounted Ion Cannons, which offer a firing arc over the entire dorsal dome. The level of endurance in combat and unique ion-cannon configuration makes the Y-Wing a capable escort fighter and it can hold its own against even the most determined TIE attacks. It can often join A-Wing and X-Wing fighters in clearing the area of fighters, transports, and small capital ships.

T-65 X-wing Starfighter

Perhaps the most widely recognized of the Rebel Alliance starfighters, the X-Wing is the ultimate in space-superiority design. It has the power and the speed to make it a dangerous foe on the battlefield. The hull and shields on the X-Wing are decent, but it more than makes up for it in speed and fire-power. With 4 heavy laser cannons and 2 missile launchers, it is the Imperial captain's nightmare. When paired with the Rebel A-Wings and B-Wings, an unstoppable force is created. Normally sent out to kill enemy fighters, a duty in which it excels, it can also be sent on surgical strike and escort missions. X-Wing squadrons are usually lead by junior officers.

RZ-1 A-wing Interceptor

The A-Wing is considered by many to be the best interceptor in the galaxy; some go so far as to even suggest it is the best starfighter, period. The fastest ship in the galaxy, the A-Wing relies on its speed and the skill of its pilot to avoid enemy fire. A-Wing squadrons, normally led by senior officers, are a nightmare for Imperial starfighters; so much so that the Empire has spent considerable resources on developing an answer to the A-Wing, to no avail. A-Wing missions run the gamut from recon to escort to dogfighting; there is little this starfighter can't do.

A/SF-01 B-wing Starfighter

One of the newest additions to Starfighter Command, the B-Wing is the heavy bomber of the Rebellion. It combines speed, maneuverability, and raw fire-power into a deadly package. The shields and hull are very tough, and its speed is good for a fighter carrying this sort of weight. The weapons on this ship out-gun even some of the best military transports. Its aforementioned maneuverability comes from its gyro-pod, a new system that allows the pilot to roll the ship around the pod itself, keeping the pilot stable, while still dodging incoming fire. Being one of the most difficult starfighters to pilot, it is usually reserved for senior officers who have proven their skill.
