Preamble

  • Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of sentient species of the galaxy is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the galaxy,
  • Whereas disregard and contempt for benevolent rights have resulted in barbarous acts which have outraged the conscience of sentient-kind,
  • Whereas it is essential, if one is not to be compelled to have recourse, as a last resort, to rebellion against tyranny and oppression, that benevolent rights should be protected by the rule of law,
  • Whereas an understanding of these rights and freedoms is of the greatest importance for the full realization of this pledge,
  • Now, Therefore, we, the signatories, proclaim THIS UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF SENTIENT RIGHTS as a common standard of achievement for all sentient beings and governments, not just limited to signatories of this Declaration, to the end that every individual and every organ of society, keeping this Declaration constantly in mind, shall strive by teaching and education to promote respect for these rights and freedoms and by progressive measures, domestic and intergalactic, to secure their universal and effective recognition and observance, both among the beings of signatory governments themselves and among the beings of territories under their jurisdiction.

  • Nothing in this Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any government, group or person any right to engage in any activity or to perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth herein.

Article 6

  • All sentient beings shall not be arbitrarily deprived of one’s property.

This right includes freedom to change their religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or with others, to manifest their religion in teaching, practice and worship, insofar as doing so does not violate the rights of any sentient being.

Article 8

Special Out of Character Note:

Understanding the limitations presented the players of the Star Wars Combine, actions taken in Darkness for the purpose of administering characters should not be misconstrued as violations of this document. One example would be using the arrest feature to move inactive characters or non-player characters.
