The Rebel Mining & Recycling Department (RMRD) is responsible for providing materials for all of the Rebel Alliance's projects and operations. The Department handles initial prospecting, construction of mines, and extraction of materials, for the Rebel Alliance's mineral deposits. 
 
The Rebel Mining & Recycling Department is also responsible for recycling, demolition, and waste management. When buildings don't meet regulations or ships cost more to maintain than they are worth, Rebels turn to the RMRD to demolish them and extract any raw materials they can. RMRD uses years of experience in destroying Imperial installations combined with advanced extraction and recycling techniques that are protected by many Rebel Alliance patents to get the most reusable materials that it can.
