This ship has a long history of diplomatic missions for the Rebel Alliance, most of which are still under the classified seal. A feature of the ''Radiance'' is the modular salon pod that could be reconfigured according to the tastes and traditions of alien dignitaries. It happened oftentimes that the salon pod was modified to create the right atmosphere and environment for delicate negotiations, including an almost impenetrable insulation against surveillance devices and microphones.<br />
With the spreading of battles in the galaxy, the Diplomatic Corps opted for the Mon Calamari capital ships, and the ''Radiance'' was gradually abandoned in its role of diplomatic ship. During the last period of operative service, the ship's salon pod was replaced by cargo modules, specialised rooms, and a hangar bay for small vehicles to be used for standard transport duties in Boranall system.
