Limitation of liability for internal content
The content of our website has been compiled with meticulous care and to the best of our knowledge. However, we cannot assume any liability for the up-to-dateness, completeness or accuracy of any of the pages.
Pursuant to section 7, para. 1 of the TMG (Telemediengesetz – Tele Media Act by German law), we as service providers are liable for our own content on these pages in accordance with general laws. However, pursuant to sections 8 to 10 of the TMG, we as service providers are not under obligation to monitor external information provided or stored on our website. Once we have become aware of a specific infringement of the law, we will immediately remove the content in question. Any liability concerning this matter can only be assumed from the point in time at which the infringement becomes known to us.
Limitation of liability for external links
Our website contains links to the websites of third parties („external links“). As the content of these websites is not under our control, we cannot assume any liability for such external content. In all cases, the provider of information of the linked websites is liable for the content and accuracy of the information provided. At the point in time when the links were placed, no infringements of the law were recognisable to us. Data protection
A visit to our website can result in the storage on our server of information about the access (date, time, page accessed). This does not represent any analysis of personal data (e.g., name, address or e-mail address). If personal data are collected, this only occurs – to the extent possible – with the prior consent of the user of the website. Access
When accessing these web pages, your browser automatically transmits data about the desired resource to the server. Thse data include your IP address (to which the data is to be transmitted), as well as specific data from previous requests (cookies, referrers, forms, etc.).
Parts of these access-data are automatically logged by our hosting provider to ensure technical operation, i.e. providing you with the site you wish to visit. Any logs of this kind is only used for manual error analysis, and otherwise automatically deleted after seven days.
Cookies
Unregistered users do not receive any cookies from the web server.
Some of the services we offer, most notably the forum (phpbb) and wiki (media wiki), allow you to register and login to use them. When doing this, sessions cookies are used, which serve to recognize you until logging out. When enabled these cookies are stored on the server to recognize you and automatically log you into your account when revisiting the service at a later point in time.
Embedding external content
In general, all content is delivered directly from the server.
We only resort to embedding external content when the content cannot be provided technically locally. This applies to the browser-dependent provision of Javascript / CSS / font data for a consistent presentation of the web content. Typically, this data is cached by the browser and fetched only once. A correlation between the individual website visits and the reloading of these resources is therefore not mandatory.
In such cases your browser transmits data to these external sources by itself.
User data, content and comments
Most of the content on these web pages is created by its users. Content can only be added by registered users. During the registration process the user is asked for some information, including an e-mail address. Beyond that we do not ask for any information. These data are used to create an account for the user and are saved permanently on the server.
Any content entered to the web pages, like forum comments or wiki content, is stored permanently on the server. Some of the content is publicly available, e.g. the wiki, while other content is only available for registered users, e.g. the forum. Public content can be indexed by search engines. Submitting any data is entirely voluntarily and implicates you agree to the data being stored on the server.
Within limits it’s possible for users to embed external content, e.g. images. When viewing these contents your browser transmits data to the respective content hoster, which is not controlled by us.
When commenting on the forum or adding content to the wiki, the IP address of the user is automatically saved and tied to the content. This is to unambiguously assign a comment to a source. IPs are only issued on request by law enforcement agencies.
Personal data (usually referred to just as "data" below) will only be processed by us to the extent necessary and for the purpose of providing a functional and user-friendly website, including its contents, and the services offered there.
Per Art. 4 No. 1 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, i.e. the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to as the "GDPR"), "processing" refers to any operation or set of operations such as collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation, alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination, or otherwise making available, alignment, or combination, restriction, erasure, or destruction performed on personal data, whether by automated means or not.
The following privacy policy is intended to inform you in particular about the type, scope, purpose, duration, and legal basis for the processing of such data either under our own control or in conjunction with others.
